Class Descriptions

Ballet 

Ballet  is the basis for all other forms of dance. It teaches grace, strength,  agility and flexibility. The class consists of  warm-ups at the barre, movement across the floor, center floor combinations and learning a routine for performances.

  • Attire- Leo, pink tights, pink ballet slippers

Lyrical 

Lyrical dance is a style that combines ballet and jazz dancing techniques. It is performed to music with lyrics so that it inspires expression of strong emotions the choreographer feels from the lyrics of the song. This style concentrates on an individual approach and expressiveness of such emotions as love, joy, hurt, or anger.

Tap 

Tap  is the rhythmic interpretation of music using metal disks that are  attached to the bottom of the shoes. It teaches strength, agility, and  rhythm.  Tap is a fun and upbeat class in which the students get to make the  music as well as dance to it.  It is performed to a wide variety of  music. The class consists of barre or center floor warm-ups, across the  floor progressions, center floor combinations and technique and learning a routine for performances.

Jazz

Jazz is one of the most popular and well known forms of dance. Jazz promotes strength, flexibility and conditioning, technique and progressions including turns, kicks and leaps. In a Jazz class the dancers also learn many fun and trendy dance steps that are used for all forms of dance.  The class consists of center floor warm-ups, across the  floor progressions, center floor combinations and technique and learning a routine for performances.   

  • Attire- Leo, tan tights, tan jazz shoes

Hip Hop

Hip Hop is a dance style that is usually danced to up beat music. Hip Hop is a very energetic form of dancing. It is unique in that it allows its dancers to perform with freedom of movement, adding in their own personalities,  and consisting of sharp movements and acrobatic stunts. Our Hip Hop  classes use age appropriate music and steps without explicit lyrics. The class consists of center floor warm-ups, across the  floor progressions, center floor combinations and technique and learning a routine for performances.

  • Attire- black jazz shoes, black leggings  

Pom 

Sharp movements, leaps, turns and MORE! You don't want to miss out. If you are thinking about joining a dance team, this class can help prepare you!

  • Attire- Leo, tan tights, tan jazz shoes

Tumbling

Tumbling  is the study of floor gymnastics. In this class students start by  leaning somersaults, cartwheels, round offs and back bends progressing  to front and back walkovers, front and back hand springs, front and back  tucks (flips) and many other skills. Students progress at their own  pace with helpful guidance. Each class begins with warm ups and strength training and then we work with each student individually on each skill. 

  • Attire- form fit leotard, bare feet

2yr Movement

This is for our littlest dance lovers. This class is an introduction to the beginning dance steps while learning through play. We ask that parents participate during class as needed. 

  • Attire- anything to move around in! Bare feet or pink ballet slippers

Adult Combo 18+

This class curriculum will be based on the interest it brings! Tap, Jazz, Ballet, Lyrical
